Our carbon neutral certificate recognises the offsetting of 475 tonnes of CO₂ emissions. This achievement gives us an opportunity to celebrate progress, reflect on what it means for our business and keep environmental responsibility part of our everyday conversations.
Reducing the emissions we generate remains our priority. During the reporting year, Survey Solutions achieved a 12% year-on-year reduction in emissions across all three scopes, exceeding our reduction target. This reflects the work undertaken across the business to reduce our overall carbon footprint. Separately, we supported carbon offset projects to balance our remaining Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions for the period.
Understanding our certificate
Our certificate covers the direct emissions from sources we own or control, known as Scope 1, and the indirect emissions associated with the energy we purchase and use, known as Scope 2.
For the period covered, these emissions were balanced through carbon offsetting. This gives us a clear, documented achievement to share with our colleagues, clients and partners.
Being precise about that achievement matters. Our certificate covers Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions for the stated year; it does not mean that our business produces no emissions or that our entire value chain is carbon neutral.
“Our priority is to reduce the emissions we create. Achieving a 12% reduction across our overall footprint reflects the work undertaken across the business to improve our environmental performance. Offsetting complements this work, but it is not a substitute for reducing emissions. Our focus remains on delivering further reductions throughout our operations and working with our supply chain to support wider progress.”

Supporting projects beyond our operations
Through Sustainable Advantage, our offsetting supported a portfolio of projects spanning renewable energy, conservation and community initiatives.
The projects include wind and solar power in India, mangrove restoration in Pakistan, peatland restoration and conservation in Indonesia, forest conservation in Brazil and energy-efficient cookstoves in India. The certificate also records support for the Agreenacarbon Project in the UK and a donation to the South Downs Conservation Fund.
Supporting this range of initiatives connects our achievement with environmental activity beyond our own operations.
Why this matters to us
This certificate is a milestone we can recognise across Survey Solutions. It provides evidence of the action we have taken to address the emissions covered and gives us a foundation for discussing our environmental progress openly.
For our colleagues, it is a shared achievement to take pride in. For our clients and partners, it provides a clear record of our Scope 1 and Scope 2 carbon neutrality for the reporting period.
It also reminds us why understanding our footprint matters. Knowing where emissions arise helps a business identify opportunities to use energy more efficiently, reduce fuel consumption and make better-informed operational decisions.
Building on our progress
Celebrating this achievement also means looking ahead. Offsetting addresses the emissions covered by our certificate, while reducing emissions remains an important part of improving our environmental performance.
As we consider our next steps, there are opportunities for our whole team to contribute: identifying unnecessary journeys, using energy thoughtfully and sharing ideas that could help us work more efficiently. Small improvements across a business can support wider progress.
We’re proud to mark this milestone at Survey Solutions. Our certificate confirms that we offset 475 tonnes of CO₂ from our Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions between November 2024 and October 2025, reinforcing our commitment to continued conversation and action.
