Data centre surveys: the facility and the power connection
Survey Solutions delivers survey across both halves of a data centre, meaning the facility and the power that feeds it. Hyperscale and enterprise data centre construction is technically demanding, and it spans the building and its grid connection, which most suppliers treat as two entirely separate jobs. We deliver both, because the connection work already sits in our energy portfolio, and we have surveyed data centre sites at Enfield in North London, at Wishaw and at Melbourne Science Park in Royston.
Data centre and grid connection survey from one supplier
You get the building and the grid connection from one supplier. Data-centre power connections already sit in our order book on the energy side, so the team surveying the substation and the cable route is the same company surveying the hall and the plant yard.
Data centre survey proven at Enfield, Wishaw and Royston
We have surveyed a data centre at Enfield in North London, another at Wishaw, and Melbourne Science Park in Royston, so these are named sites instead of a general survey record applied to a hot sector. The list is short because the sector is, and we would rather name three real sites than imply a dozen.
Setting out, control networks and PAS 128 to tight tolerances
Data centre work isn’t large in volume and we won’t pretend that it is, but it is precise. It takes setting out and control networks to tight tolerances, PAS 128 utility mapping around critical services, and measured survey in Revit for a building where every millimetre of plant space is accounted for.
Structural Monitoring
Once construction is complete we can monitor structures and critical services across the site as an ongoing relationship.
