Meet Jordon

l am proud of my progression through the company from a trainee surveyor with no surveying experience, to the Survey Manager position I now find myself in. I am lucky to have learnt from very experienced and knowledgeable surveyors over the years and I am now hoping I can pass some of those learnings to others in the business.

“Whilst the majority of my 18 years’ experience has been in land and measured building surveys, I also took the chance to broaden my knowledge and have been trained in underground surveying. I was the first person at Survey Solutions to do this and is a great example of where the company can offer people lots of career progression and choices.

Since my promotion to Survey Manager in March 2022, my responsibilities are now to consult directly with clients, send out quotations, book in and invoice each survey. I also manage and schedule my team of 19 surveyors and trainees.

l have seen a lot of technology changes in my time in the business with us continuing to invest in laser scanning, drone and other survey equipment.

The company has supported me to become a Technical Member of the CICES in 2019 and I am now looking to move up to full member status. In my time as senior surveyor, I attained my ProQual Level 3 Certificate in Utility Mapping and Surveying which alongside my time as a utility surveyor, put the Ipswich office in a good position to expand the utility department further. This has now happened and since October 2023 I now run the utilities department within the Ipswich office alongside the topographical and measured building department, growing the utility team to 7 with more room for expansion in the future.

Now I have more experience I enjoy training and helping people with their projects and being available to give any advice. I have found that I enjoy leading a team of surveyors on large projects more than I do working on my own. One thing I have enjoyed over the years is seeing people’s commitment to the company and their own careers progressing when they receive the promotions, they have worked so hard to achieve.
