Fully Integrated Survey at HMS Ganges

Integrated measured surveys delivered at HMS Ganges to support redevelopment of this historic Suffolk site, including topographical, CAD and Revit model outputs.
Reviving HMS Ganges Estate with Integrated Survey Data
Survey Solutions was appointed by Wavensmere Homes to deliver a fully integrated survey package at the former Royal Navy training base, HMS Ganges, supporting the early phases of design and development.
Located on the Shotley Peninsula in Suffolk, the 60-acre site includes several historic and listed structures. Our Ipswich team led delivery across the site, combining topographical and measured building surveys with careful environmental coordination to avoid disturbance to protected species and underground features.
Detailed Measured Surveys for Listed Buildings
The works formed a key step in reviving the HMS Ganges estate, with three notable buildings surveyed in detail: the old swimming pool, Vincent House, and Nelson House. Nelson House, a former drill hall, is set to be restored as a public library and café—requiring full floor plans, elevations, sections, and structural detail.
In addition to 2D CAD deliverables, we produced Revit models to support a collaborative design workflow and enable data sharing across the project team.
By navigating complex site conditions while maintaining precision and minimal disruption, our team helped set the foundations for one of Suffolk’s most ambitious heritage-led regeneration schemes.
“Survey Solutions have worked diligently to acquire the information needed for us to commence with detailed design. Their drawings are detailed, clear and easy to navigate.”
