Engineering Certainty Delivered at Glasgow’s North Rotunda
A four-strong team from our Glasgow office has successfully delivered a multi-disciplinary survey at the landmark Glasgow’s North Rotunda, supporting the next phase of regeneration at this iconic city-centre site.
Operating within a live environment, the team carefully navigated a series of logistical and access challenges to ensure survey operations had zero impact on the day-to-day experience of the building’s occupants and visitors. Our approach prioritised discretion and efficiency, working in step with site managers to minimise disruption throughout.
The scope of work included a full measured building survey, with outputs delivered as a Revit model. This digital environment gave our client an early-stage design tool to explore feasibility and concept development—particularly valuable for stakeholder engagement and planning input. The ability to visualise key viewpoints and walk-through options gave the design team confidence to proceed at pace.
The survey package also included detailed topographical and underground utility mapping. These outputs will help inform the development of the site into a new mixed-use destination incorporating an events space, bar and restaurant. By giving our client an accurate and integrated picture of above and below-ground conditions, we’ve helped de-risk the early project stages and accelerate their route to planning and procurement.
