Revit Modelling at Manchester Academy
Survey Solutions recently delivered a full Revit model of Manchester Academy, one of the city’s most recognised music and events venues located adjacent to the University of Manchester’s student union building. The work formed part of the client’s early-stage planning for remedial works and potential alterations to the building’s internal layout.
Our remit included the production of a coordinated Building Information Model to LOD 3, incorporating all visible architectural features, structural components, and typical MEP systems. This provided a precise and reliable digital representation of the existing site, enabling the project team to plan with greater accuracy and reduced risk.
Delivered under BIM Maturity Level 1, the model forms a vital foundation for future decision-making—supporting design development, stakeholder coordination, and compliance. It’s a clear example of digital certainty in Revit, built on robust survey data and tight execution on site.
With events venues posing unique challenges—such as restricted access, legacy structures, and ongoing operations—our team planned and executed works with minimal disruption. This is increasingly typical of our BIM-led approach: fast mobilisation, clarity of output, and high accuracy across complex, live environments.
The Manchester Academy model reflects the growing demand for survey-grade digital twins across the education, culture, and asset management sectors, supporting clients with practical data to unlock capital works, safety upgrades, and estate planning.
