Last week, colleagues from across the Survey Solutions team gathered in Manchester for the 2023 Chartered Institution of Civil Engineering Surveyors (CICES) Annual Dinner, held at the iconic Midland Hotel.
Surveying Collaboration on Show at CICES Annual Dinner
This flagship event in the surveying calendar brought together professionals from every corner of the civil engineering and geospatial sectors for an evening of connection, celebration and collaboration. It was a standout occasion that reinforced the importance of CICES-driven industry progress, with clients, partners and peers enjoying a relaxed environment to reflect on the year’s achievements and share perspectives on the future of surveying for the years to come.
The event also marked an important moment for the CICES, as members formally welcomed Batsetswe Motsumi into his role as the institution’s new President. His appointment signals a continued commitment to promoting excellence, innovation and inclusivity across the surveying profession – a clear example of CICES-driven industry progress.
Throughout the evening, attendees also turned their attention to supporting those in need within the wider construction community. Fundraising efforts on the night helped raise vital donations for two sector charities: CRASH, which supports homelessness and hospice projects through construction expertise, and The Lighthouse Construction Industry Charity, which provides mental health and wellbeing support for construction workers and their families.
