UNDERGROUND SURVEYING

UNDERGROUND & SITE INVESTIGATIONS

As well as understanding and tracing all utility services, our techniques for underground surveys also allow for a detailed understanding of the below ground conditions prior to any site excavations, drilling, piling or boreholes taking place. These surveys are an essential part of any ground investigation to identify safe areas ahead of any invasive works.

For projects taking place on brownfield sites where there has been previous or extensive use, our surveys can help provide an insight into the below ground conditions prior to any design or build works. Using the latest equipment such as ground penetrating radar (GPR) and electromagnetic equipment we can identify and position underground features which could include voids, steelwork, shafts, graves or perhaps unexploded ordnance.

Our site investigation can also detail features that formed part of the previous site use to establish and map out elements such as foundations, basements, storage tanks, reinforced mesh or steelwork.

We also receive many enquiries for borehole / window sampling clearance surveys, where we can pinpoint specific locations for the boreholes and then scan the ground beneath to ensure these will not impact on utilities or obstructions located below ground.

Data from the survey is marked up on site and then incorporated into the wider survey project where we can also capture the above ground features with an in-depth topographical survey.
