Utilities Surveyor
We are currently recruiting experienced Utilities Surveyors to grow our team based in Yeovil. You will have the exciting opportunity to work on varied of underground and utility survey projects using the latest surveying technology. We are looking to hear from enthusiastic surveyors keen to develop their careers and build on existing knowledge and experience.
About Us:
Survey Solutions is the UK’s largest engineering surveyors specialising in land, measured building and underground utility surveys as well as monitoring and site engineering schemes. We have a network of nine offices across the UK, with over 160 surveyors and engineers working on some of the UK’s major construction and infrastructure developments.
Key responsibilities & competencies:
- Able to complete underground surveys to a high standard including; Ground Penetrating Radar, cable clamping and clipping of pipe work, passive locating and sonde tracing
- Demonstrate a good working knowledge of AutoCAD
- Understand the principles of drainage in relation to site surveys and detailed design
- Carry out CCTV drainage condition surveys and process the results using WinCan software
- Consistently delivery high quality work on time and in budget
- Have an awareness of the use of topographical and measured building surveys
- Maintain vehicles and equipment to a high standard
- Supervise trainee surveyors and provide training when required
The Person:
- Previous experience working as an Underground Utilities Surveyor (minimum two years)
- Experience using AutoCAD
- Competent using underground surveying equipment
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a wider team
- Confident and clear communicator – both written and verbal
- The ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines
- Professional manner with excellent client facing skills
- Full UK driving licence
- Right to work in the UK

This is a full-time role with office hours of Monday to Friday from 9.00 – 5.30, however site hours will vary so occasional overtime and weekend working with be required. You can download a copy of this job description here.
