Greg Norman Completes Land’s End to John o’Groats Cycle Challenge

On Sunday 12th September, one of our Directors Greg Norman completed the gruelling 970-mile cycle challenge from Land’s End to John o’Groats.

After months of early morning starts for training around the Norfolk and Suffolk countryside as well as commuting to work by bike rather than car, Greg was delighted to make it over the finish line.

On a much-needed day off after finishing the nine day challenge, Greg reflected on what had been a brilliant experience.

“What an amazing trip seeing new places and sights, such as cycling up and through Cheddar Gorge (highly recommend), Bath, Ross-on-Wye, the Cairngorms, cycling up the Lecht to the top of the ski centre (not recommend!) and finally the far north coast of Scotland. All stunning in their own individual way.

“Was I prepared? Yes. Was I prepared enough? Probably not!! When you are climbing hills standing on the peddles that you can barely turn and your legs are screaming at you to stop, you realise Norfolk really is flat!!!”

“Thank you to everyone for their donations, messages of support and ongoing encouragement. They really do make a difference and help you get back in the saddle when you are waking up in a tent and it is dark, damp and cold and you are facing another eight hours in the saddle.”

To help spur himself on even more Greg decided to raise money for Big C Cancer Charity whose work in Norfolk helps improve the lives of those affected by cancer. Greg has raised over £2,500 with more donations still coming in.

Congratulations Greg! A brilliant achievement and an amazing amount of money raised.
