MAPPING FOR A £2BN NEW TOWN IN SCOTLAND

Image of a proposed  New Town in ScotlandWork is due to start in Aberdeenshire on the first part of the 2119 acre (859 ha) Chapelton of Elsick project to develop the largest new town in Scotland creating around 8,000 new homes and thousands of jobs. The £2bn scheme plans to include a new academy, up to four new primary schools and a business development area along with parkland and leisure facilities for the residents.

Survey Solutions advised on land surveying issues relating to the project and provided detailed topographical surveys and large scale mapping for the design stages of the development along with installing primary GPS survey control for the construction phases.

Paul Singleton, Survey Solutions director overseeing the survey said “It’s an interesting survey project because of the overall size¬†and scope of the development.”
