Precision Surveys Pave the Way for Renewable Energy Development in Catsfield, Battle

Survey Solutions is pleased to have partnered with Masdar Arlington Energy, a key player in the flexible generation sector, to support their development plans for battery energy storage sites nationwide. Masdar Arlington Energy is at the forefront of managing battery energy storage projects from development through to operation.

In the latest collaboration, we successfully completed the fifth in a series of topographical surveys for Masdar Arlington Energy at their proposed site in Catsfield, Battle. The site, encompassing 27.5 acres and part of a working farm, required a detailed topographical survey to facilitate the feasibility and development stages of the project.

 Masdar Arlington Energy’s Planning Team commissioned a comprehensive topographical survey of the site and its access route. The survey is a crucial initial step in the feasibility and development process, providing vital data used by a multidisciplinary team, including planning consultants, infrastructure specialists, landscape architects, and drainage engineers. The data helps these experts understand the terrain and environmental context, enabling the design of an effective and compliant development for planning applications.

Conducting the survey on a working farm presented unique challenges. Our survey team prioritised minimising disruption to the farm’s operations, ensuring the security of livestock, and protecting the land and crops from damage. This careful approach allowed us to gather accurate data while respecting the day-to-day activities on the farm.

Masdar Arlington Energy’s development plans, supported by the precise and reliable data provided by Survey Solutions, have now been submitted for planning permission. We are proud to contribute to projects that advance the renewable energy sector and look forward to future collaborations.
