Confined space capability delivers result at culvert in West Yorkshire

With a nationwide team of multi-disciplinary surveying experts, we can provide clients with in-house expertise across a wide range of surveying services. Specialist confined space training and equipment are essential when completing surveys with access and egress issues. With a confined space trained team we were able to respond quickly to an urgent requirement to survey a culvert at a retail park in West Yorkshire.

We regularly work with CCS Consulting and were delighted when they recommended our surveying services to Avison Young, the construction consultancy project managing the investigation and repair works of the culvert. As part of a repairs contract, Avison Young needed to understand the size and scope of the culvert section where the construction type varied in order to determine where remedial works were required. Additionally, they needed to identify the locations of utility services to avoid disruptions during repairs.

Conducting an initial topographical survey of the site enabled us to assess the culvert. This confirmed that the survey would require a team with confined space training and specialist equipment, and these were quickly assembled in order to meet the client’s timelines. A team of three surveyors completed the measured survey and utilities survey in one day, with the drawing finalised the next day.
