More than a survey – when service meets solutions
More Than A Survey is what we call it. You may have seen it as a hashtag on our social media posts over the last few months.
But, what does this actually mean? Surely you just need a survey and all surveys are pretty much the same? Well yes, this can be the case, but it might be worth finding out a little bit more on what you will get.
We appreciate that when you need a survey, you generally need it quickly as it is the kick start to many aspects of your project. The survey industry has several players, companies of various shapes and sizes but what if you need a survey hundreds of miles away from where you are based? We are proud to have a UK coverage of offices meaning we can react speedily to your enquiry and from the go-ahead we can be on site quickly (generally within a week and usually faster than this). We keep our lead-in times deliberately short so we can be there when you need us. With around 100 surveyors and engineers in our team, we don’t need to worry about having people finish one job before they can start on a new one.
It’s also important to consider that your survey may need a range of services. The most obvious is a utility survey that relies on a topographical plan. By talking to us at the outset of the project, we can co-ordinate both pieces of work and even have all the information back to you faster than if you use two separate suppliers. There could also be a chance of saving money as well as time and if there were any queries or follow-up information needed, you only need to come back to one supplier.
In a previous blog, we introduced our toolbox approach which always ensures you get what you need from your survey. For example, a combined land and measured building survey may need more than one or two approaches. Perhaps it’s a drone survey to complement areas of the site that are not easily accessible or safe to survey through traditional methods. When you work with us, you are getting access to a whole range of tools. There is no need to worry too much about how we do it; leave it to us to choose the best option to meet your requirements.
And finally, what do you get from the survey? Again, something to discuss with our survey specialists when you speak to us. It is often not clear that our technology and software can generate a whole raft of outputs – not just a 2D or 3D site plan. There are walk throughs, fly-throughs, flyovers and other models available. Plus, the level of detail we provide is one of the main reasons clients come back to us time and time again. As one of our surveyors once told me “we measure a service cover in its entirety rather than just taking a central reading”. It might seem obvious, but it is the little things that can make all the difference. In truth, we probably give you more detail than you really need, but in our view that is how it should be and it has become part of the values we stand behind.
So yes, we are called Survey Solutions for a reason. It is about giving you the best solution for your project and no two projects ever need the same solution. The difference can often be in how we deliver. It is worth talking to us to find out more.
